On Sunday September 19th, 2010 (rain or shine!) you and your dog can lend a paw to help homeless animals in our community receive the most precious gift of all - a second chance at love. The main event is a dog walk on the scenic wooded trails of Cranbury Park in Norwalk, CT but there are lots of other activities planned such as vendors, demonstrations, food concession, PAWS merchandise for sale and great prizes for those that participate in the walk.
The event kicks off at 10:30 am and if you are participating in the walk, registration is from 10:30 am until 12:00 pm and you and your dog may walk the trails anytime you like. Walk the trails and then visit the vendors or visit the booths first and then walk your dog - it's up to you! The 1/2 mile trail will take you through cool woods with dappled sunlight.
We've set a goal of raising $55,000 to help support the wonderful pets in our care while they wait for their forever family to find them. With YOUR help we can reach that goal and make a difference in the lives of homeless pets in our community! Register to walk your dog and collect pledges from family, friends, co-workers, even strangers you meet on the train and ask them to sponsor your dog. Not only do you get a warm and fuzzy feeling from knowing that you have helped animals in need, there are great prizes for you as well! All registered walkers receive a goody bag with samples and information from our sponsors. Raise at least $100 and receive a free event t-shirt! Raise more than $100 and you get more cool stuff! Go to http://www.active.com/donate/pawsct2010to register and set up your fundraising site so your supporters can make pledges.
