Stapleton will teach a traditional approach to landscape painting, based on the theories of two schools: the legendary Boston Impressionist R.H. Ives Gammell, with whom he trained in the 1970's, and the Rockport, Massachusetts School of Landscape Painting, of which he is a highly regarded exponent. This workshop will be taught outside, barring inclement weather, at historic Old Lyme painting locations, in the footsteps of the Lyme Impressionists. Stapleton will also discuss the business side of painting, and will do a seascape demonstration. All levels and mediums of painting welcome, however the emphasis will be on oils.
Dates: Saturday and Sunday, 9am – 4pm, September 18–19
Fees: $260 for Members registered by September 11, $310 for Nonmembers and late registrations
