New and returning students of all levels will sculpt in clay from a model posing to allow for either a portrait or whole figure composition. Capturing the individual character of the model expressed through form will be emphasized. Artists who want to strengthen three-dimensionality in their two-dimensional work will benefit from this class, as will sculptors eager to work from the figure. Workshop sessions will be scheduled for students who want to cast their finished sculptures. An additional opportunity to work with a live model and practice skills learned during this class at a discounted rate is the Tuesday night Open Sculpture Session, where Sue Chism will act as Monitor. Please call the LAA for more details.
Dates: Thursdays, 6:30 - 9:30pm, September 9–November 11
Fees: $400 for Members, $450 for Nonmembers for 10 weeks
