Join Instructor Jerry Weiss in this two-day workshop designed to give students the strong foundation necessary to create successful figure paintings. Beginning with several hours of drawing on the first day, Jerry will then lead students through the crucial process of blocking-in the painting. The second day will entail development of form through value and color, focusing on the figure. Students will be guided in draftsmanship, value relationships, color harmony, and overall composition; all derived from a sustained observation of the live model. Each day Jerry will give a demonstration, and provide individual attention to students of all levels. All mediums are welcome!
Fees: $350 for Members registering by Feb. 3; $400 for Nonmembers and late registrations
Instructor Bio: Jerry Weiss is an esteemed artist and teacher of figure drawing/painting and landscape painting locally and around the country. Evident in his work is his fascination with psychological nuances, and a love for the natural and architectonic shapes of the land. As a landscape painter, he realizes a structural approach; he looks for the anatomy that exists in landscape as it surely does in the human subject.
