Dr. Carol Matteson — A nationally recognized leader in higher education management, Dr. Matteson joined the Mount Ida College community as their fifth president on April 17, 2000. She came to Mount Ida College from the position of Executive Vice President/Provost at Rowan University in New Jersey. Dr. Matteson has led the strategic repositioning of Mount Ida as a predominately baccalaureate college through the development of a strategic plan that focuses on developing a quality baccalaureate curriculum and vibrant campus community. She has overseen the expansion of baccalaureate programs including the new bachelor of arts degree and major in American studies. Dr. Matteson has received recognition for her service activities and has served on numerous boards. She was named a “Distinguished Educator” in Pennsylvania and has received her alma mater's outstanding alumni award.
Dr. Matteson received her Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh with a major in organization studies and a minor in marketing. She brings to Mount Ida College extensive experience in strategic planning and marketing as well as a strong commitment to students. A member of the board of directors of the Newton-Needham Chamber of Commerce, Dr. Matteson has been a frequent presenter at national educational meetings and a consultant in the areas of strategic planning, marketing and fiscal management.
Cost is $35 for Members and $50 for General Admission (Includes Lunch). There is a $5 surcharge at the door without prior registration.
