The Ossining Public Library is proud to present a live concert of classical guitar music featuring Bret Williams, one of today's rising stars of the classical guitar. The concert will take place on Sunday, September 19 at 3:00 pm in the Budarz Theater located in the library at 53 Croton Avenue in Ossining, New York. The concert is free and all are welcome. Bret Williams has been acclaimed as one of the most talented young classical guitarists performing in the United States. He has been hailed as a guitarist of "spectacular energy and technical resource" (Nylon Review) and billed as a "rising star in the New York classical guitar scene" (New York Classical Guitar Society). Classical Guitar Magazine profiled his work as "alluring" and "accomplished." Tony Morris of NPR's “Classical Guitar Alive!” praised his music for it's "energetic, warm and polished sound." Soundboard Magazine credits him with "wonderful precision." The Montauk Pioneer wrote "The audience couldn't help but see how much passion there was and gave a standing ovation after a stellar performance." Mr. Williams has recently appeared alongside Metropolitan Opera tenor Ronald Naldi at the Summer Stars Chamber Music Festival. Other notable concerts include the Brooklyn Academy of Music, the Kimmel Center for Performing Arts in Philadelphia, St. Peter's Church, The Riverside Church, the Shandelee Music Festival, and the Mannes Guitar Symposium. He has taught at Concordia College, Lucy Moses School, Columbia University, Hostos Community College, Turtle Bay Music School, and Rodeph Shalom School. His concert repertoire includes the works of Heitor Villa-Lobos, Astor Piazzolla, Carlos Raphael Rivera as well as his own compositions.
